ABOUT ARTIST

Antoni Karwowski (b. 1948).

From 1977 to 1983, he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun (Poland).

He is an intermedia artist, painter, performer, an organizer, a curator and an

independent lecturer. He began his artistic activity in the 1970’s.

He was a co-founder and curator of many international projects and festivals, such

as Gaja – Cztery Żywioły (1992–1994), Trawnik (1995–1999), Art Migration (2000–2003), Private Impact (2002–2004), Performance/ Intermedia (2005–2011), Live Art Archive PL (2014–2016). He maintains contacts with numerous places of art, including in Berlin, New York, Seoul, Boston, Gwangju, Cologne, Barcelona and Marseille. He presented his works in Poland and abroad.
